Our Philosophy

There is a difference between land that is handed over and land that is cared for over years. Jain Farms tends to every tree and nurtures the soil on behalf of its owners and only lets one go when there is no alternative. For us, land is something to grow old with, in the same way one grows old with the people they love.

When we started in 1991, farmland was not something city families thought about owning. Land was for farming, and if you were not a farmer, you had no involvement with it. But what I saw was something else. I noticed that people who had grown up around trees and open ground were living in flats and taking their children to parks on weekends.

The problem was never that they did not want land. It was that buying it included risky elements. People were afraid of factors like titles that did not hold up, encroachment, and developers who took the money and were never seen again. I had all heard those stories.

So I decided we would take on the part of the work nobody really wants to do. That is the post-sale phase! Anybody can sell someone a piece of land once and move on. What is harder is staying with the customers for years after, maintaining the roads, keeping the water running, looking after the trees, and still picking up the phone when a family calls with a question ten years later. That is the part we built this company around, because that is the part that actually decides whether a family trusts you or not.

Thirty years later, what tells me we did something right is not the acres or the numbers. It is that many of our families have come back to buy a second piece of land with us or recommend us to their loved ones. Nobody does that unless they have felt looked after.

That same care is what we are carrying into Vamsha Dhara, our newest community near Mandya. I hope families see it as a place for their children and future generations, not just land.
